Disposal Note

Disposal Instructions

Information requirements according to Section 18 (2) of the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act at www.bmu.de/themen/wasser-Waste-boden/Abfallwirtschaft/Statistiken/elektro-und-elektronikaltgeraete/

The proper disposal of old electrical and electronic equipment (“old equipment”), batteries and light bulbs is important to us. The following rules must be observed during disposal:

1. Environmentally friendly disposal of old devices

Every consumer is legally obliged to dispose of old electronic devices separately from household waste, as they contain harmful substances and valuable resources. Electrical devices are marked with the following symbol (see point 5), which means that they must not be disposed of with household waste.

Waste electrical equipment can be handed in at an approved collection or return point. This can be a local material or recycling center, for example.

Old electronic devices are accepted there free of charge and recycled in an environmentally friendly and resource-friendly manner.

If you cannot find a collection point near you, our customer service will be happy to help you.

2. Environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries

Batteries and accumulators (rechargeable batteries) also contain pollutants and resources. As with electronic devices, every consumer is therefore legally obliged to hand in old batteries and accumulators to an approved collection point in order to ensure that they are recycled in a way that protects the environment and resources.

Batteries containing harmful substances contain abbreviations for the ingredients cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg) and lead (Pb). Batteries are marked with the following symbol (see point 5), which means that they must not be disposed of with household waste.

You can return batteries free of charge after use at the point of sale or in the immediate vicinity (e.g. in municipal collection points or in shops). Defective batteries can be handed in at a local recycling center. If you cannot find a suitable return option in your area, our customer service will be happy to help you:

3. Further information on disposal

3.1. Why do old electrical appliances have to be handed in at a collection point?

Waste electrical equipment contains pollutants and valuable resources. The collection points ensure that the devices are refurbished and reused, if possible, by certified disposal companies. Ideally, old products can be refurbished. If reuse is not possible, they treat the old devices, remove pollutants from the devices and direct valuable resources to recycling. This process protects the environment and the increasingly scarce resources.

3.2. Removal of batteries and light bulbs

Please remove old batteries and accumulators that are easy to remove, as well as those that are not enclosed by the old electrical device, from the devices before handing them in. Please proceed as described above for disposal (point 1 & point 2). Please also remove light bulbs that are easy to remove before handing in old electrical equipment. Please dispose of both separately.

3.3. deletion of data

Please note: The consumer is responsible for deleting personal data on electrical and electronic devices.

3.4 Dispose of illuminants, lamps and lights in an environmentally friendly manner

Most lamps/illuminants (compact and linear fluorescent lamps, energy-saving lamps, discharge lamps and LEDs) contain pollutants and resources. As a result, every consumer is legally obliged to hand them over to an approved collection point. In this way, they are recycled in an environmentally friendly and resource-saving manner. You can hand in bulbs, lights and lamps free of charge at the local recycling center.

3.5. Compact fluorescent lamps, metal halide lamps, fluorescent tubes and neon lamps may contain small amounts of mercury. Avoid skin contact with damaged lamps! Collect the broken pieces with damp paper or a piece of cardboard and pack the leftovers airtight for transport to the recycling center or hazardous waste collection vehicle, for example in a glass jar with a screw cap. Ventilate the affected room for about 30 minutes. Please avoid sucking up the fragments with the vacuum cleaner.

Light bulbs and halogen lamps may be disposed of with household waste.

If you are unsure what type of lamp it is, please hand the lamps over to a suitable collection point, which will ensure species-appropriate disposal.

4. Our WEEE registration number

We are registered with the Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (EAR, Benno-Strauß-Straße 1, 90763 Fürth) as a manufacturer of electrical and electronic equipment under WEEE Reg. No. DE 55532359 registered.

5. Electrical equipment identification symbol
